Our environmental strategy is anchored in science
At Evercare Medical, we trust in science. That’s why, in order to have a fact-based, structured and credible environmental strategy, we have decided to apply the LCA-methodology. This also aligns with Asker Healthcare Group’s commitment to the Science-Based Target initiative.
Science-Based Targets for Climate Action
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). Climate targets approved by the SBTi guarantee that the targets are ambitious (aligned with the 1.5°C scenario of The Paris Agreement) and credible (Science-Based Targets are third-party reviewed and require a complete GHG-emissions inventory, including all relevant categories of Scope 3 emissions, as per the Greenhouse Gas Protocol standard).
Evercare Medical’s Role
Evercare Medical, as the leading own-brand product company within Asker, significantly contributes to the groups product-related emissions and thus has a crucial role to play for Asker to reach its climate goals. Our Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) are at the base of Askers GHG-accounting of Scope 3.1 emissions from purchased products and services. Having identified the hotspots from our LCAs, the initiatives we are undertaking to improve product design and specifications, but also to minimize the impacts from production, will be a major lever of Askers climate transition plan. You can read more about how we work on reducing the environmental impacts of our products here(link to Value Chain-section).
